Celebrate a memorable era of Scottish international football with the Scotland 1982 Away Retro Football Jersey. Introduced around the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain, this distinctive red change shirt represents a talented Scottish generation managed by the legendary Jock Stein. Scotland began the tournament with an entertaining 5–2 victory over New Zealand before facing Brazil and the Soviet Union in a challenging group. Despite scoring eight goals across three matches, the team narrowly missed qualification for the next stage on goal difference. Although the red away shirt was prepared for the World Cup, Scotland wore its home colours throughout the tournament. The alternative design subsequently became part of the national team's international kit collection through 1985.

The 1982 squad featured some of Scotland's most recognisable footballers, including Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness, Gordon Strachan, John Wark and Alan Hansen. Dalglish scored against New Zealand, while Wark contributed two goals in the same match. Souness provided midfield leadership and scored a late equaliser against the Soviet Union, with experienced striker Joe Jordan also finding the net. Captain Danny McGrain, John Robertson and Steve Archibald added further quality to a squad remembered for its attacking ability and competitive performances.

The away jersey features a striking red base with fine vertical pinstripes, creating a distinctive textured appearance associated with early-1980s international football. A contrasting navy-blue V-neck collar with narrow accent detailing complements the dark sleeve cuffs, while the Scottish national team crest completes the traditional design. Its bold colours, understated pattern and connection to Scotland's 1982 World Cup generation make this retro shirt an appealing collector's piece for supporters of Scottish football.
