The Rayo Vallecano 1995–96 Away Retro Football Jersey celebrates a dramatic season in the history of the Madrid club. Returning to La Liga after promotion from the Segunda División, Rayo faced a difficult campaign but produced several unforgettable moments. The highlight came on 21 January 1996, when Brazilian striker Guilherme Alves scored twice in a remarkable 2–1 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. Despite finishing 19th in the league, Rayo secured survival by defeating Mallorca 2–1 on aggregate in the relegation play-offs, preserving their place in Spain's top division.

The squad featured memorable players including Guilherme Alves, Daniel Aquino, Onésimo Sánchez, Antonio Calderón, Míchel, Jesús Diego Cota and Julián Palacios. Aquino finished as the team's leading league goalscorer with 14 goals, while Guilherme contributed 10, including his famous double against Real Madrid. Their attacking performances, together with the team's determination during the relegation play-offs, made the 1995–96 campaign an important chapter in Rayo Vallecano's history.

The away jersey celebrates Rayo Vallecano's distinctive football identity and the classic styling of mid-1990s Spanish football. Associated with the club's traditional diagonal-sash heritage, the design represents the passionate spirit of Vallecas and an era when Rayo competed against some of Spain's most established teams. With its vintage character and connection to a famous Bernabéu victory and dramatic La Liga survival, this retro away shirt is a meaningful addition to any collection of classic Spanish football jerseys.
