The 1999/00 season was the high point of this particular home shirt. Rangers entered the campaign as defending Scottish champions under Dick Advocaat and successfully retained the league title. The squad contained a strong international core, including Michael Mols, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Arthur Numan, Claudio Reyna and Andrei Kanchelskis alongside established Rangers figures such as Barry Ferguson, Jörg Albertz and Rod Wallace.
Rangers were particularly dominant domestically. They won the Scottish Premier League and added the Scottish Cup, defeating Aberdeen in the final to complete a league-and-cup double.
