    Independiente Rivadavia represented Mendoza in the 2010/11 Primera B Nacional, playing their home matches at the historic Estadio Bautista Gargantini. It proved to be a difficult league campaign, with the club finishing 18th with 40 points after recording nine victories, 13 draws and 16 defeats.

    Despite the difficult overall campaign, the team possessed a productive attacking group. Javier Velázquez finished as the club’s leading league scorer with 10 goals, while Mauricio Ferradas scored nine. Contemporary records show Ferradas, Luis Salmerón and Velázquez forming the attacking line together during the season.

    One notable result came against Defensa y Justicia in September 2010, when Independiente Rivadavia won 3–1, with Salmerón, Velázquez and Ferradas all scoring. The same three players scored again in another 3–1 victory, this time against Atlético de Rafaela in October.

    The season ultimately ended with a relegation playoff against Defensores de Belgrano. Independiente Rivadavia preserved their place in the division after the decisive second leg finished 2–2, allowing the Mendoza club to remain in the Primera B Nacional.
